April 18, 2009 Turkey Creek, MS Advisors gathered in front of the KatrinaRitaVille Express.

At the Fund’s core is an “Advisory Group” of leading policy advocates, community activists and grassroots organizers from Louisiana , Mississippi , Alabama and Texas representing a broad swath of constituencies, geographies and issues.

These Advisors play a central role in informing the Fund’s grantmaking priorities and policies, and assist in directing the Fund’s resources by serving on grantmaking panels. Grant review panels recommend the slate of grants to be awarded each cycle.

Advisors ensure full transparency and accountability to the people of the Gulf Coast. Community-led by the people on the ground and in the field, the Gulf Coast Fund Advisors are an invaluable resource.
